Capital punishment is bad. How much better is society if we do exactly what the crime is. Even if it is done to a criminal.

My point was that Jesus wouldn't support capital punishment. John 8:7, too. The "kill the enemies of the Jews" bit is mostly in the OT, although Revelation may have more killing. I really dislike Revelation though, and think it shouldn't be included.

My point was that Jesus wouldn't support capital punishment. John 8:7, too. The "kill the enemies of the Jews" bit is mostly in the OT, although Revelation may have more killing. I really dislike Revelation though, and think it shouldn't be included.

Jesus probably wouldn't, but what about God, especially from the Old Testament?

Gravedigging: Posting a reply on a long disused thread; bumping threads that aren't used anymore. Adding legitimate new material is permitted, and the acceptable age varies from forum to forum. Adding a book report in Arts & Fiction is acceptable after months of inactivity, but bumping a week-old topic in General may not be.

Is this "new material" you're posting? Of course not, it was barely worth posting back in July.
