But, it would be better if languges were put among their other related languges and not by region.

Why not: Screw poll. People will just answer in posts?

Or, let the poll cater to the NS demographic and focus on Romance and Germanic languages with the less likely options all grouped together?

First of all, you have to understand the French have two verbs for "to know": one, "to know (people)" and another "to know (knowledge)". You used "connaître", which is the former; you wanted "savoir".

Secondly, you conjugated the verb incorrectly. You used the "ais" ending, or the first person singular indicative. You should've used the second person plural indicative with "vous", the polite/plural form of "you". Taking into account "savoir" is an irregular verb, the correct conjugation would have been "savez".

Thirdly, you botched something with "de" and capitalised "français" (and left off the cedilla).

So, a correct sentence would be:

"Je crois que vous savez plus français que moi."

Generally those who support the "language isolate" theory also disagree with the Altaic theory, but they're not recorded there.
