Should Pluto be a Planet?

Should Pluto still be a planet? A few years ago, Pluto was declassified from Planet status to Dwarf Planet status. What is your opinion Ns? I think they were right, Pluto is similar in size to several objects near it ,and is too small and similar in shape to all the to all the other things out at the fringe regions of the solars system. all those small planets, like Eris for example, are not classified as planets. Nor should Pluto be.

"Classified", "thought of as", "said to be", "called".

All synonyms for semantics. In my opinion, Pluto is Pluto, Earth is Earth, Saturn is Saturn, and Frosted Flakes are damn awesome.

I honestly don't know enough about space to really decide. I am not a critical member of the Space Things Deciding Committee, and I dunno if anyone on here really is.

Pluto is a dwarf planet. If we counted it there wouldn't be 8 planets, there'd be something between 12 and 20. But hey, at least we didn't discover a minor planet, call it a regular planet, then later have to call every minor planet in the Solar System a planet just to retain that sense of correctness. No child should have to learn the eleventy billion planets. I remember 9 was too much and 8 wasn't all to great either.

No it shouldn't really...

Similar to objects found in the Asteroid Belt, Pluto in the Kuiper Belt will face a similar fate of being too similar to the objects around it to be called a planet...

Dwarf Planet is a fair naming...

No. It's a dwarf planet. If we classify it as a planet, we would have to classify all of the dwarf planets as planets, and then we'd lose that useful classification.
