Do you believe in extraterrestrials?

So do you or do you not believe in extraterrestrials? Given the fact that there are around 100 billion planetary systems (solar systems) in the Milky Way galaxy alone and the fact that there are billions of galaxies in the universe, I think that it is practically guaranteed that there are other planets out there which have the necessary amount of water, composition, and atmospheric conditions to support the development of life forms. Therefore, I believe that extraterrestrial life exists. But, that is not to say that I believe in UFO's and aliens visiting earth. I believe that the extraterrestial life on other planets is likely just going to be limited to single celled organisms and plant life on most inhabited planets. The few cases of life sustaining planets that have more complex life forms will also most likely be just limited to non-sentient primitive animals. I do believe that it is likely that there are a very few planets in which intelligent sentient life exists, however, said life would most likely have primitive technology in comparison to our own with only a few of such civilizations having technology comparable to or greater than our own. So what are your thoughts on extraterrestrials?

Probably some microbes in this very solar system, or formerly existed in this solar system (Europa and Mars are promising). I doubt we'll find intelligent life for a long time, a very, very, very long time. We might never find intelligent life actually, considering FTL may not be possible.

I agree with the OP. Extraterrestrial life almost certainly does exist. Based on what we know thus far about our own solar system it seems few worlds have the conditions necessary for complex lifeforms let alone intelligent life. However, the distribution of earthlike planets in other solar systems is unknown as are the capabilities of the organisms that may live there.

The answer is a definite maybe, which should be a poll option.

There may be countless other planets supporting life, there may be none. They may be "ahead" or "behind" us, but it would probably vary based on how long they've been around. On the other hand, they could be so different it may be impossible for us to compare ourselves to them or even comprehend them as "intelligent" life.

The possibilities are literally endless because the universe is so vast and unexplored. However, by the same stripe, it makes it extremely unlikely we'll ever actually find them, and even less likely communication with them would be possible if we did.

I merely think that the number of stars and terrestrial planets around the Universe is so high that the existence of at least one technological society of living beings, chemically not too much different from Earth's lifeforms, on another planet is extremely likely.
