That phrase irks me. Not because I don't agree with it but because I think there are better ways to shoot down an argument.

As a statement standing by itself it has as much relevance as it is relevant to the topic at hand. That said, there's a difference between stating a term, and discussing what said term means as a broader socio-political concept.

But once again, maybe I'm expecting a tad much from the crowd.

My contention is when the phrase becomes a shouting match during a debate. As in, use it, sure, but perhaps instead of letting it stand alone, an explanation following it would be good too.

I understand the meaning behind it and it's relevance, what I don't like is when it becomes the sole answer in a shouting match.
