Back in my day, we used to have fistfights outside of bars all the time without calling them beatings. I don't see why that changes when race and sexual orientation gets involved. I think this is just the media being overly sensitive.

I fought plenty of people back in my time, black, white, hispanic, gay, straight, Republican, or Democrat. I once fought a homosexual outside of a gay bar. We both got thrown out for causing trouble. Of course, I beat the shit out of him with the fists God gave me, but we both got up, shook hands, and parted ways. I don't see why that's not possible today. You get angry and drunk. Fights happen. I know the good Lord doesn't approve of violence, but I'm sure He'll forgive me.
