Gay marriage...abortion...socialism/communism...there's more to it than just gay marriage. But it is a substantial factor.

Gay marriage only objective affects the quality of life of LGBT people and their children.
Abortion has no legally tangible victims.
Socialism/communism existed in your beloved era as well...and even then, they're just two ideologies out of hundreds.

Neither amount in any way to a "substantial factor" that determines our current world as something in any way inferior to the past, a past with lower quality of life, genocide, more ignorance and a lot more war.

American Law comes from English Law, which comes from Roman Law. Roman law, to my knowledge, was based on the divine word of pagan gods.

There was plenty of civic laws in Roman law.

Not to mention the fact that it isn't a pure transition. You also had influences from thoughts at the time, hence the differing structures in government.

If you had any knowledge of history, you'd know things changed substantially in the 2000 or so years between the establishment of American law and Roman law.

Plus Roman law was civic, not religious.

First: They are human beings. They exist and they live in the same world as you. They obviously will "cohabit" this world with you, whether they are in or out of the closet...unless you want to commit genocide against homosexuals, that it.
Second: It's not like we want to force you to suck a gay guy's prick...or even watch two women have sex. And, really...this little snippet of paranoia is in no way related to same-sex marriage.

2. Well...let's say the fetus' potential humanity makes it a person. So? Millions of women have abortions anyway, whether it's legal or not. The only difference is that, with legal abortion, it's far less likely those women will die along with the fetus.
