Guys, were talking about a poster who claims to be a Christian yet acknowledges hes not going to Heaven because of his beliefs and actions. I mean, I enjoy some batting practice as much as you folks do, but if you're going to respond to him at least be sarcastic and dismissive. Its painfully to watch you all attempt actual arguments with someone who is frankly not interested.

Nope. An impasse would imply that both of you have valid arguments supporting your respective opinions. That is not the case here. Your opinion, Valcouria, has no valid basis.

Opinions are without the need of facts. That is why they are opinions.

Opinions can still be supported by facts
But your one reason for despising Gay Marriage is because a book told you it was bad...
So your opinion isn't really valid

Gay marriage only objective affects the quality of life of LGBT people and their children.
Abortion has no legally tangible victims.
Socialism/communism existed in your beloved era as well...and even then, they're just two ideologies out of hundreds.

Neither amount in any way to a "substantial factor" that determines our current world as something in any way inferior to the past, a past with lower quality of life, genocide, more ignorance and a lot more war.

No. Roman law was civic, not religious.

If you had any knowledge of history, you'd know things changed substantially in the 2000 or so years between the establishment of American law and Roman law.
