To be fair, why does matter? It's a personal choice, as much as anything else.

First of all, I'm a very religous person. That should be reason enough.

Secondly, when I marry someone I want to give them my all, physically and emotionally (and sex, especially for a sappy romantic like me, is very emotional).

Thirdly, my family has had a history with sex that isn't too good. My cousin got married early because he got a girl pregnant. His father had oversexed (yes, it is a thing) himself as a young man and it destroyed his marriage, his relationship with his best friend, and eventually his best friend's marriage.

Lastly, it's not that big of a deal, at least when it comes to other people. I've always wanted to go the path least traveled, and I made the desicion, even before I was Christian, to wait becuase I didn't want it to become a focal point in my life. Over the years my closest friends have pursed relationships based on sex appeal, and I've seen marriages (like the one prevously mentioned) based on looks being decimated. I don't want to be the kind of person that lives like that. Not to say that all relationships or people that aren't celibate are like that, but simply that I want to train myself not to think like that.
