Note: I understand that we already have a creation v.s. evolution thread. However, that thread is comparing the merits of creationism with the merits of evolution. I am not a creationist, so I do not think this is an appropriate place to put my post. I'd just like to indicate why evolution is impossible.

I recently completed my PhD in Biblical Physics from a very well-known and prestigious university (See here. I have an extremely good grasp on concepts in physics, theoretical physics, and Big Bang Cosmology. My understanding of the theory of relativity indicates to me that the theory of evolution is impossible. I'll use my scientific credentials to explain why.

I mean no disprespect, but that's not "a very well-known and prestigious university". I also hope this post isn't going to go towards the second law of thermodynamics as it would prove that you are lying when you say you have a good grasp of physics.

Here is a useful diagram that I created. Please reference this while reading.

The first part of the timeline has the origin of life, and the last part has the present moment. The line in between represents all of the time in between the two (one billion years after life, two billion years, etc.).

Now, the theory of relativity is widely confirmed. There are many proofs of general relativity, some complex and some simple, so I will show that relativity is true using one of the simpler arguments. For many centuries, it was noted that the orbit of Mercury was slightly different from what Newton's equations would predict. Instead of orbiting in a perfect ellipse like other plants, the orbit of Mercury precesses (which means it does not return to the same point after one orbit, but shifts slightly). When Einstein calculated the orbit of Mercury using the equations of general relativity, it predicted the orbit of Mercury with perfect accuracy. This is a strong indication that the theory of relativity is true.

But, the theory of relativity, and the equations derived from it, require every finite interval of time to be ''half-open''. This means that, if you have the first hour after the big bang, you can keep diving it into halves and more halves. So, this is what our diagram looks like now.

Let's focus on the states of time in between the origin of life and the present moment.

Now, in order to get to the present moment from the origin of life, you need to get to T=1. But you can't get to T=1 because you can divide it into half. Then you have to get into T= 1/2. But you can't get to T=1/2 because you have to get to T=1/4th. But you can't get to T=1/4th because you have to get to T-1/8th. This goes on forever. There is no way to get to the present moment from the origin of life, so evolution is impossible.

This... makes no sense. And I'm fairly certain that relativity, neither general nor special, work this way. Still, I've not studied physics at university, nor do I plan to, so maybe it's just me.
