Is the account of the Global Flood a myth?

Yes, it is completely false and I can't believe anyone could possibly believe it happened.

No, the Global Flood did happen, and it was perfectly possible for it to happen.

Pretty sure a helluva lot more Americans support gay rights now than they did nine years ago, so yeah, that is a possibility.

Somehow I don't think they're the same. Gay rights have active campaigns, and I've never heard of the "The Global Flood Didn't Happen" movement.

Homophobia stems mostly from religion. If people are supporting gay rights, it means they're placing much less emphasis on what preachers the Good Book are telling them.

Well implicit atheism is still definately spreading, I think. Religion just isn't as relevent today. People get tired of having to judge everyone and regulate lives (particularly their own). Working on Sundays just isn't a big deal these days. People like to have sex. People don't want to have to unfriend someone for being gay, especially when it will make them look like a douche to all their straight friends. It's just easier not to follow crazy rules that don't give anything in return except for a vague promise of paradise that people are either believing in less, or believing that those rules aren't required to achieve it.

Would you care to support why you did so? ( Not expecting much of them).

There are other parallels between the Old Testament and the Shūtur eli sharrī, enough to lead some to believe they share a common source in Mesopotamian mythology. The stories of the first man and the first woman, for instance, as well as the flood story.

It's a myth like many before and after it. And it makes sense why a people would invent such a myth, even in modern times. Look at the aftermath of Katrina, if you lived on the coast, and you had no internet or tv or news of any sort to tell you otherwise, you'd go from Pensacola to Lafayette and think the whole world was flooded.
