Erm...tenth, surely? Fitting, I suppose.

I always forget the number of rings.

Any clips of his commentary? Fox Soccer has a lot of bad commentators, so I usually find a stream with good commentary rather than watch it on television with bad commentary.

He said Gerrard was left footed. That's all you need to know.

Am I the only one getting annoyed by McDonalds being plastered all over the Charity Shield?

They sell shit burgers, overly salted "fries" and fizzy sugar water. What the fuck are they associating themselves with football for? Do they really think people are dumb enough to think their food is healthy if they sponsor enough sport?

Now its stopped using ammonia hydroxide in its food prep, as well as "pink slime"...I reckon they think they're ready to be accepted as a reasonable purveyor of foodstuffs.

McDonalds paid for my level one badge and sponsor a lot of grass roots clubs.
I'd argue they're doing more for the sport in England at the moment than the FA

Yet another damming indictment of the FA. Fucking useless cunts.

USA name their roster for the BiH friendly: http://www.theamericanoutlaws.com/roste ... erzegovina

The very first name made me question Jurgen: Cody Cropper from Southampton? Allow me to tilt my head in confusion. Apparently Jurgen wants to bring this U-20 player up to get some experience....somehow. Same thing with defender John Anthony Brooks, playing for Hertha BSC, Aron Johannsson (because suck it, Iceland), and Bobby Wood (WHY‽).

Sure, it's all countered by Tim Howard, Michael Orozco, Michael Bradley, and Jozy Altidore, but I can't help but ask why the oddball picks here?

It's more or less a meaningless match before qualifiers resume again in September. Johannsson (assuming his paperwork goes through in time) would be to lock him in to the US and welcome him aboard, Cropper (as a third GK, mind, so I doubt he'll even play) would likely be because Sean Johnson and Nick Rimando, two others fighting for the #3 keeper spot, saw action in the Gold Cup a few weeks ago.

I think Brooks is a dual nationality thing - German born, but son of an American serviceman, so he's eligible for both. Best to tie him down to the USA now in case Germany wants him later.

Bobby Wood was said to have impressed with the provisional 35 man squad before the Gold Cup, so I don't mind him getting a call up in a friendly.

Terrence Boyd is the one I'm most upset with. He should have gotten one or two looks and been put on the "eh, maybe not..." list. Having had 9 caps (now 10 if he gets on the field) is about 7 too many. His first touch is always awful, he looks like a pub league player when he's facing a physical defense that will push him around a bit, and he can't settle a loose ball. I know he has a good goal scoring record for Rapid, but he has looked terrible every time I've seen him with the USMNT.

Just now saw that Marouane Chamakh went to Crystal Palace. What exactly prompted that move? Was he out of favor at Arsenal? Bad form?

Edit: answered my own question.

They're welcome to him. While we've been...well, pretty inactive so far with regards to actually signing players, I'm quite pleased with those we've got rid of so far. Except Mannone. And possibly Gervinho, though we apparently got £8m for him.

Shame about Gervinho. He had his moments and I thought he could've grown into the role. Pretty hard to win the fans back when the fickle Emirates crowd gets on your back.

Gervinho's problems at Arsenal were purely psychological. Have you seen him playing for Ivory Coast? Completely different player.

Huh.

The average age of PSV's youth team (Young PSV) playing today is 20.235. The average age of the first team that won 5-0 at the weekend was 20.216.

Downing to West Ham confirmed.

WhoScored: Stewart Downing: Since joining, Liverpool have won 43.4% of their PL games with Downing starting, compared to 30.4% without him
