Frustrating thing about the matches they're putting on next year and their location. I could've made Houston, but they had to put it in goddamn Dalla, about a 13 hour drive from here.

Chicago and Seattle, that's where Spurs are going in the summer, but Chicago might as well be the moon, and Seattle another solar system entirely.

Oh SHIT! Tickets start at $201, and the cheapest seats that are parallel to the touchline are $278. And I use the word "seat" lightly, the stadium has bleachers, not seats.
The best row I can find is 12, for $335. That's a week's wages, pre-tax.
Damn the tickets being sold out and having to get ones from resellers, the price is double. That $335 ticket? Originally $150. Shit, I really want this, even if it's two clubs on my "dislike" list.
I also have to see about getting a shirt, probably Modric, maybe Di Maria, Bale, Isco, Pepe, Ramos, or Alonso. Never Ronaldo.

That is such a ridiculous asking price. I know, I know, traveling costs and all, but the Big House is gigantic.

The tickets are all sold out though. Sold out a while ago. You can only get them through resell now.
But yeah, they're planning on having a record crowd for football in the US, and the 3rd biggest crowd ever at the stadium (the top 2 were hockey games, a lot more room to fill up then) so the profits will be ginormous.

Evil Lord Sauron wrote:Brian Little is absolutely hated here at Wrexham. He is the worst manager in our history having been responsible for shipping off our best youth academy players for nothing and seeing us relegated out of the football league.

Yeah he dropped the ball there. But even if he messed up with us, fans would want him back, I think. Club legend and all that.
I don't think he'd be a great choice for us right now either, tbh, but people are remembering his team in the mid 90s. similarly the Curbishley shouts are because of what happened with Charlton. They fail to realise that it took him YEARS and then he was too cautious to push beyond mediocrity with them.
KoloToure wrote:The game needs more young managers, otherwise we're going to end up with loads of 60 year olds.

Professional football in England is a bit of an old boys club, to be honest. It's why I'm pretty much not even trying to get coaching roles here anymore. It's also part of the reason we don't progress like other nations. This lack of willingness to explore new ideas, and bring in new people with fresh perspectives is damaging. Don't even get me started on how Mark Burke doesn't get enough respect.

I was going to travel to Toronto a few years back to visit family and watch a Villa match while I was over there. Tickets for that game were ~$200 too. It's madness.

I spoke to a friend in Canada about it to see if it was just that I was looking at the wrong place or something and he confirmed it. Explained that basically they included the friendlies in the season ticket games, to try and entice people to buy those. Then they put the remaining tickets at a high price because fans will pay silly money to see Premier League teams play. I was stunned. The same friendly at Villa Park would have been £20 max. I went to the Inter Milan friendly and took two of my cousins with me a few years back and the total cost for all three tickets was less than £50.

Still boggles my mind that MLS games have a higher average attendance than NBA games though. I'm guessing NBA arenas are small, or the tickets are seriously extortionate because that just doesn't make sense to me otherwise.

Looking into it, MLS stadiums seem to hold slightly more fans but not by a very large margin. So capacity alone can't be it. Ticket price also seems unlikely, at least not in DC where I could get Wizards tickets for pretty decent prices. If it's anything, I would blame the price of concessions as I really don't feel like paying $10+ for low-quality food when I could walk a block down the street and get a decent meal for less.

IMO, the most likely explanation for it is simply that MLS fans are more willing to watch their local team than NBA fans are. Or at least that seems to be the case here, where the couple Wizards games I've been to have felt pretty empty, but DC United matches haven't felt that way.

Does anyone know why all the Premier League games (and Arsenal's FA Cup game @ 17:07) are scheduled as starting at 15:07?

It's all games across the weekend, and it's for the 25th Hillsborough anniversary. 6 minutes delay because that's how long the game went on for and then an extra minute's silence.

Oh jeez, our defense is in shambles. News that Mascherano is the only CB we have that's fit; Song has started alongside him. No wonder we're down 1-0.

Not sure, couldn't watch, but I assume good enough because it ended 1-0 without any good chances. Shot on target ratio was atrocious again, 9:29.
Ugh. Martino was out for sure at the end of the season, now I wouldn't be surprised if he was sacked tomorrow.
