What went wrong? They're playing United, something doesn't have to go wrong to lose 4-1. That being said, Ashley Williams didn't play well.

Shelvey in midfield really doesn't play the Swansea way, couple of high long balls from him when their was an overlap to his left or right with a short pass which would of cut open United. Can see why they have him to close down the opposition, but if he wants to survive and become a Swan he needs cut out the stupid long ball.

Without suggesting that Shelvey is anywhere near as good as Makelele was, that's the role he should play - press and break up attacks, then a short pass to a creative player, and it's not as though Swansea are short of those.

Oh most definitely, and that is the reason they have bought him. But his long balls need to be completely cut out from his game.

Soldado looked good, but Capoue showed a lot of potential, too, especially in physical play. Spurs have something of a dream defensive midfield, don't they, with Dembele and Paulinho playing that role at times, Sandro can step up when the time comes, and now Capoue.

I was impressed with Crystal Palace's attitude though. Which I guess is a given for an Ian Holloway team. What a man. I'm so glad he's back in the Premier League.

But if Mata doesn't play against Villa, Bentekkers gets captain for me, so its okay.

Newcastle reject a 11m big from Arsenal for Cabaye. We're starting to look desperate.

Damn it Mourinho. Wish you would have said a few days ago you wouldn't be playing Mata. Hopefully against Villa. And hopefully he gets a hat trick and a half dozen assists to make up for it. It's only the first weekend and my fantasy team is in shambles. Not really in shambles. But looking a lot less attractive than it was a week ago.

We've had a reasonably long-standing interest in him (I think we might even have scouted him before he went to Newcastle), so not that desperate. If we're buying a Toon midfielder, though, I'd prefer Tiote, yellow cards and all. Though maybe someone like Jonathan dos Santos might be worth a look.

Higuain would've been signed the second the market opened if he was still with us.

So...we're getting a ManU player!

Acott Wootton...central defender. Dirt cheap deal. Could be a good bit of biz for us. We do need some height in our defense.

I suppose they can blame the pitch there right? It was one of those rubbery plastic ones. Blaming the pitch seems like the thing to do when you struggle away against a team from a less developed UEFA member.

Am I the only one who thought "Ollie" was entertaining for a few months several years ago, but is now just irritating? Yeah, he gives good copy for the media, but he's just as bad as Ferguson was for deflecting attention away from poor performances by his team.

Really telling of the quality, or lack thereof, of Scottish football. Celtic are shite, compared to the rest of the world, and yet they'll still piss the league.
