Okay. Now for the big question. What is the worst thing that someone has ever called you on NS? What is the worst ad hominem that you've ever received from your opponents in a debate here?
Also, I'd like to know what your gender is.
After answering this question, please see the second spoiler as to why I'm asking you this question. In my experience it's been feminazi, slut, selfish whore, harlot, bitch, nutjob, closet FtM trans*, man-hater, unemployed warrior feminist... amongst others.
This still wins as the worst ad hominem I've ever gotten though. Long story short: someone took the time to find a really old photograph of me, Photoshopped it to make it look like there was cum on my face, and then used that picture to imply that I was a slut and a harlot, with a side of abduction and rape. Lovely.
The person I was talking to, a former male NSer, gave me this list: naive, foaming-at-the-mouth because I can't handle scientific research over personal anecdotes, blind, unimaginative, mushy fence sitter, elitist fucktard, closet conservative. Why am I asking you this question?
Basically, I'm curious about the types of ad hominem that one uses on a perceived opponent, and how it relates to gender. I get the feeling that when people perceive me as female, they start attacking my sexuality, my gender identity, and others, while for males, people tend to focus on their perceived character traits.
Example (that isn't me): In a discussion on philosophers (and I'm using this loosely here), Ayn Rand is often attacked on how ugly she is, and how no man ever really wants to fuck her. I know, I've done this in the past myself. In comparison, male philosophers are critiqued as idiotic, naive, or an array of other things that have nothing to do with their looks or sexual desirability.
Not trying to say that it sucks less for guys, but I'm curious to see whether there is a connection to gender and the ad homs used. I get the feeling that it is, but NSG, your thoughts?

For disagreeing with someone I had the pleasure of being accused of being sexually attracted to them as a form of rebuttal. The word creep (and its variants) were bandied about but I am not sure that anyone outright accused me of being so. The remaindee of that thread was about this. and it ended when it was locked... for derailing.
I'm a bloke.
I also wouldn't call it a debate. More people reasserting their unsourced (and unexplained, really it is without a doubt the worst example of a "debate" I have ever had the misfortune to have encountered) assertations at me as I tried to explain why they were wrong.
I am not sure that this helps your point because it was a feminism thread and "debate" is both very low quality and very hostile in all feminism threads on NSG.

Your personal opinion, while appreciated, lacks EMPEHRICAL EVUDENCE, and is therefore not relevant to the discussion. Now, look at these sources I haven't spent three seconds reading to see if they agree with me, or are even relevant to this discussion at all, showing how TEU GUBBERMIBT EZ BAD, TAXES ARE THEFT!

Saying 'You're wrong for reasons x, y, and z you fucking moron," is not an ad hominem, its just being a dick. Saying "You're an idiot therefore you're wrong," is an ad hominem.
This is a huge pet peeve of mine.

It actually could and/or does. I find that when a male says feminist things, people tend to listen. Or they presume that the guy's faking it to get laid or whatever. One of the two. But if it's a girl? AD HOMS AHOY!

Well generally I am criticising feminism, of whatever NSG is calling feminism (okay, it gets a bit confused because I try to be critical of feminism as NSG's mainstream feminists see it... everyone is critical of the frequent misrepresentations and fringe extremists, usually -- see the burn the MRAs episode).
People who criticise feminism are often just blindly labelled MRAs (and the intent always seems to be insulting, they're not actually that popular with the people I tend to agree with either) and it has, quite notably and sadly not infamously, been suggested that MRAs are all burnt to be got rid of.
That's quite possibly why out of what amounts to the main three "NSG feminists" TSM is the only female one. I'd put NTTP up but she's a recent and less frequent addition to the threads.

And so on and so forth.
While I'm female, and in areas of the forums that fact is somewhat common knowledge, my gender isn't exactly something I go trumpeting, so I'm quite frequently mistaken for being male. (Neither of my common online names- Reploid Productions/Firefury Amahira really suggest any particular femininity either.) On occasions where the person hurling the insults is aware of my gender, there have been ample recommendations on what I should be applying oral suction to, and the occasional bitch/slut/whore combination. But usually the insults I get are also directed at the entire moderation squad, and people hurling torrents of abuse through the Getting Help page tend to be all over the place since they don't necessarily know which mod will be reading it.
There's been too many over the years to pin down a single "worst" one, but then I've also long since reached the point that Some Person On The Internet Saying Mean Things is more liable to leave me laughing than particularly stung, so they all just sorta blur together.
