That depends on who you are in that equation. The lady, the guy being beaten or the pimp. :p

If I were one of those cops standing around I wouldn't feel motivated to stop that lady either. It would be too much paperwork to fill out for justice served by the victim.

2nd Baron of Moyne, I read his posts in Peter Dinklage's voice, from Game of Thrones. Except, in my cursed imaginings, Dinklage isn't affected with dwarfism and has long long long legs.

And with this I know I'll dream of the Iron Throne, set in a dark Tijuana street, with a lady texting in the backdrop, a pimp somewhere and a man hurting in the ground from attempting to take a phone that wasn't his.

It's not the mainly male population that's the problem, it's the mainly teenage population. I mean you can't really blame teenagers for being stupid or anything, but yeah.

Yes you can. I've known intelligent and responsible teenagers, and many infantile adults. It's how a person acts that matters more than their age.

The police don't really get paid much at all in Mexico, yet people wonder why they are so prone to bribery.

LEWIS BLACK! I remembered.

Anyway, in Mexico, police officers usually have no choice but to bribe because they themselves have to meet quotas (monetary ones) to their superiors. A very corrupt system. That being said, I don't know if this is a generalized problem or if it only happens in some regions only.

Blasphemy. Tyrion is a badass. Although I've never watched an episode yet... but I suspect I will like GoT when I watch it.

I don't know that one.

I've heard some regions have it far worse than others due to very different wage rates between regions. It shouldn't be so difficult for Mexico to raise police wages to something decent.

In a state where corruption is so rampant, I doubt police wages will be increased any time soon.

I think that what he's saying is that indeed there are teens capable of being responsible and well spoken. Not the norm, however, but NS has had a few like, Coserative Morality (example) who started as an NSer in his teens.

Not really. Speaking well, expressing themselves well (both audibly and written).

We've had a few teens who fit that description. Not all teenagers are that way, but some can be.

It's definitely not the norm but it's common enough that I'm not going to treat someone differently on the basis of their age when they can speak intelligently.

I must ask but, was something in my writing of that post giving you the idea that I implied that they should be treated differently?

As for the age, sure, if they can express themselves intelligently, they should be commended for that. I've seen several teens be that way on NSG.

That being said, I wouldn't speak of some subjects to a teenager like I would to another adult closer to my age group. Partly because it makes me feel uncomfortable, and partly because I could get into trouble.

I was in agreement with you but directing at others. I should be more specific, but insomnia.

I believe if people by default treat teens as "teens" it only encourages them to not try acting intelligently since they're nothing but a teen.

I can easily see why it would make some adults uncomfortable. There was once a time I would have been judgemental towards what others willingly do with each other but my attitude has changed to not caring since it doesn't affect anyone outside of those involved.

Well, they're teens, Luveria. One shouldn't belittle them, but one must remember that although some are perfectly capable of very intelligent discourse, that's not a green light for other actions.

I don't think treating them as part of the age group they are encourages them to not act intelligently. The ones who wish to, will act intelligently. Those who don't want to, well, won't.

My attitude is not that it will affect them but rather, I don't want to get into trouble. I don't want my life affected. Besides, discussing certain topics with teenagers is... futile. Not because they can't grasp the concepts, but because I derive nothing from it, personally. You and I are of different age groups, although we're both considered adults. I don't know if you understand my point of view on this.

Sometimes. Sometimes not. I don't mind at all if their sexuality is in line with mine although I'd prefer they are a decent and intelligent person above all else.

What bothers me is when I see people's ages being called out even when their points have been entirely valid. I admit I was guilty of that too but I'd rather not see age used as a card in debates.

Not wanting to get in trouble is an entirely rational reason. Your own safety does come first. I understand your view but I've done things with people older than me although it's certainly not for everyone. Whatever people are happy with is what works for them.

There need to be more females here. It's just incredibly awkward reading the poll numbers.

I don't know if we need more agender/genderqueer/transgender/bigender/whatever folks here. They're already wayyyyy over-represented as a percentage of users compared to the general population - which is the exact opposite of the female problem.

Yes we do need more agender/gendeerqueer/androgyne/transgender/bigender/trigender people here too. Diversity is the spice of life. More females would help diversity too.

I'm more keen on having it reflect the actual population at least slightly TBH. I'm not saying we should go and kick out the current [prefix]gender folks, but, honestly, that's one group that the internet doesn't need any more of.

I think there are almost as many MtF transsexuals here as there are cisgender females. People are entitled to both use this site freely and consider themselves whatever gender they want... but come on, internet!.

Not hardly. "if she's vindictive" isn't a generalization at all. It qualifies that some will, and some won't. Mine was. Lol

If you're referring to the rest of the post, in divorces women, usually, come out on top.

Except that they don't (and I can't believe nobody else pointed out that this is wrong). Financially, divorce is often detrimental to women. It's getting better, but only because the income divide is getting smaller.

You guys either had parents with highly unusual circumstances or perhaps not since later California refers to living next to a crack house with his mom afterwards... so I'm going to go with skewed perspective on this one.
