We do that already. It never seems to work. Worse yet, we then have people applauding them and saying "yeah, show that dyke!" or "+1" or something like that.

To be honest, the only way to deal with it is to report the things that are reportable, and ignore the rest of those who wouldn't otherwise be convinced they were wrong.

Honestly, this entire thread is a matter of what we value more. Community or Liberty and while I value Liberty more than Community, the Forum has precedent for banning wrong opinions, and I think sexist opinions should go down that path since we're striving for Community.

I'd really rather see sexist opinions banned too. People spreading their sexist opinions is only harmful and drives people away, and then people wonder why there is such a disproportionate gender imbalance. It's a very vocal and loud minority with sexist opinions that feels the need to show it to everyone. I haven't exactly seen sexists open to the idea they could be wrong.

Every forum I've been on that have anti "shit posting" rules have abused it. Anything the majority doesn't agree with becomes a "shit post". I'd leave immediately if that were enacted here.
