So what do you think are the best countries to live in? The criteria I use to define the best countries to live are GDP per capita, how good their education system is, unemployment rate, crime rate, scenery, culture, level of freedom, and stability. Here is my top 10 list of what I feel are the 10 best countries to live in.

1. Canada
2. Norway
3. Netherlands
4. Japan
5. Iceland
6. Sweden
7. Denmark
8. New Zealand
9. Australia
10. United Kingdom

Since these lists usually contain the same countries, and "best country to live in" is beyond any reasonable criteria, let me break it down:

1. Canada


Too many mosquitoes. Boring.

2. Norway


Lutefisk. Too cold.

4. Japan


Earth's mini-Coruscant. How exciting.

5. Iceland


Too small. Too cold.

6. Sweden
7. Denmark


Thumbs up.

8. New Zealand


What's with the NZ-mania ?

9. Australia


Could be.

10. United Kingdom


Nevah.

And France and Portugal are nowhere to be seen. Dismissed.

Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Hokkaido, and the UK seem like pretty nice places to live.

I'm left-wing, and a great believer in equality for all, regardless of age, race, gender or sexual preference.

Athetal is my main nation and is FT, it is the one most representative of my beliefs, however please note that the nation does have character all of its own and therefore some laws might not reflect what I personally prefer, for instance the lack of public nudity or drug laws.

My other two nations are the XinTaFax Imperium, my other FT nation which is almost entirely the opposite of Athetal, and The Homeward Isles which is my fantasy PT nation.
