Who should the nominee be? I am personally leaning towards Clinton or Biden, but mainly due to name recognition, I don't know any of the other potential candidates really at all.

If she'll run again, Clinton. Experienced and popular. She'd win.

What did you think about her lies about being under sniper fire at when she was in Bosnia?

I dislike her. I thought Clinton was a good president but I don't think she would be.

Don't care. She's experienced and popular, and has mildly decent views. Far better than anything the GOP has, and I doubt any of the Democrats I prefer would win.

Eh, Clinton. I dislike her hawkish view on foreign policies, but she seems the best bet for the Dems at the moment.

Screw clinton if it means Bill has any influence.
Go for one of the up and comers or a new face.
May as well roll the dice rather than just hand our money straight over to the house.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

What's wrong with giving Bill influence if it means the GOP gets smashed?

He used the united states army to bomb a medicine factory for one of two reasons:

To divert press attention away from his sex scandal
To let off some steam stemming from the sex scandal

One of his closest "friends" has said of the man that there is absolutely nothing you could say that bill would not do.
That's a pretty fucking damning statement, especially as he appears to have meant it.
When people say "I wouldn't put anything past him." they usually mean it in a joking way. They would still be shocked or appalled to find out someone did something like say, rape a kid.
He hired thugs to intimidate someone giving evidence against him including threatening the lives of children to get someone to shut up and commit perjury under oath.
He's compelled several people to commit perjury.

Plenty of shit. It also says a great deal about Hillary's judgement that she married the asshole.

At a certain point the "Lesser" evil of a completely sociopathic democrat becomes unjustifiable if we want to continue to take ourselves seriously.
Fuck bill clinton.

Hell, theres so much about him from all his years in office and I can fill an entire thread with JUST the shit surrounding Lewinski.
Thats ignoring the fact he might be a rapist and a murderer. (He is almost definately a rapist.)

http://justnotsaid.blogspot.co.uk/2010/ ... inton.html
Decent argument for bill being a sociopath. (Something that is gaining more and more ground the more he opens his mouth and the more people stop and think "Hold on a fucking moment, just because the guy is a democrat doesn't mean he gets a free pass.")

What they should do is disband the party immediately after the Republican Party falls apart.

Well.
If we go with the golden standard, we'll have an economy.
It'll be shit, but it's an economy.
If we go with homeopathy, we may as well not have healthcare at all.

I doubt they'll gain more support. If we're lucky the various ideological sub-tents of both big tent parties will form parties around their political ideologies before battling it out in 2016 in an election that may, for at least a while, destroy voter apathy.

The most interesting thing I'd like to see post-2016 is if civil liberties is more important than capitalism for the various 'libertarian' parties that form once the inevitable coalitions are formed between the Left and the Right.

You'll be hard-pressed to find someone fitting that description.
