No. I'm telling her, "If that's not cool, baby, try it like this. Yeah, girl. You didn't know that was an opening." And then this like BOW-CHIKKA-WOW-WOW music starts to play from the heavens. It's magical.

I'm not sure what the law on child support is where DM lives, but if there are awards then "we had a verbal agreement that she'd abort or raise it herself" won't get him off. Even a written contract probably won't.
But does that matter? Even where there is compulsory child support awarded to custodial parents, quite often the custodial and non-custodial parents reach a mutual agreement and no government enforcement is required. DM seems like a nice sort who would help if needed.
Yeah, that's a possibility. There's a degree of trust you have to have. And, thanks. I am a nice sort and push comes to shove, I wouldn't leave anyone I cared about in a bad way.

Fetuses do not get the right to own a woman's body. If my mother had wanted to, she had every right to abort me. In fact, it probably would have been wiser to do so. But instead she made the CHOICE to give birth, which is her right. It is also any woman's right to not choose to give birth.

Now I'm not sure if you were serious before. If "I never intend to have any more kids" is serious, I'm seriously recommending a vasectomy to you.
(Had one myself of course. Doesn't hurt much. Potential casual partners don't always believe it though: there should be a little window in the ballsack so you can show it to them...)

Just a side note, I always found that a bit odd. The suspicion towards effectiveness of vasectomy. I do know there are stories of vasectomy (using ties) that spontaneously undid and a pregnancy happened, but when a vasectomy is done correctly, I don't see that happening very often enough to be a big concern.

It's a question I've never asked my mother. Don't want to know ...

I'm considering it, seriously. But cost is a factor right now and I'm just ever so slightly nervous I'll decide to change my mind in the future.

Yah. Mine was free, but they put me through extra rounds of counselling because I was a lot younger than the typical customer, and childless.
I did ruminate a long time on whether I might change my mind in future. Sperm-banking occurred to me, but I was told it would cost me money to reserve my own sperm for later use so I didn't. Smarter move would have been to donate to the general bank, in case it was still there if I wanted it later.
I haven't changed my mind, and at 48 the possibility is growing more and more remote.

Screw that! I don't tell'em, that way if she gets pregnant I KNOW she's been cheating on me.

Um. Telling them doesn't reverse the procedure. If she gets pregnant she's still sleeping around. Telling them is a GOOD thing. I mean if I got into a relationship with someone and they never told me they had a vasectomy I would probably murder them. I want kids and I don't want to waste my time with someone who doesn't want that, too. And lying on top of that, ugh.
