Define what a prophet is in this case, please. Are you just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks?

"In religion, a prophet is an individual who is claimed to have been contacted by the supernatural or the divine, and to speak for them"

For some reason, everyone ties the word prophet as an individual who had divine contact. Therefore, mainstream christianity. At a secular level, a prophet could be anyone who carries valuable information that people look up to. In this case, many atheists refer to Darwin as a back-up to their atheist ideals.

I think you are doing that. "Darwin is a prophet." "Science will become a religion."

Loyalty to science is good. Don't over-preach it, it's unhealthy for the human mind.

Aha. I think some one is conflating Atheism with science. Atheists can have blind faith in something that isn't god, you can'y specify what that is from the word atheist but believe me atheism does not mean "Faith in science" Atheists don't even have to be rational the only requirement is not believing in God.

Now onto you "blind faith in science" part Science and more specifically the scientific method is used by scientist as a means of rationally deciding on what is most likely to be a fact. Any currently held peer reviewed scientific theory that is accepted by the scientific community (by which is meant experts in that field generally) is the most likely explanation from the data gathered. This is why people use science and scientific method as a means for discerning the truth of a matter, just because you don't understand the methods used or the data gathered does not make them as faith based as you seem to imply. It is simply a method for finding the thing that is most likely the truth. Also the fact that we call them theories and not facts does not make them as fallible as if I were to say "well I have a theory that some where between earth and the moon there is a floating teapot" because we have empirical evidence for scientific theories. The more evidence is collected in favor the more the theory is likely to be correct. And that is the basis of scientific understanding, not faith, but evidence based reasoning and peer review.

Atheists don't believe in prophets. Nobody can carry absolute truth. Scientific theories can't actually be proven. Simply supported. Science doesn't claim or aim to prove everything.

Then obviously that would not include Darwin, for he based his conclusions on empirical evidence, not divine inspiration.

If I genuinely hated atheism, I would spout off a lot of incoherent responses that would make your ears bleed and you would get a splitting headache. I came here, gave out my honest opinions of where atheism is at in this universe and there you have it.

and please, I have atheist friends who I see are normal people like I am. It's not an attack, it's an understanding of who we are.

Your OP is incomprehensible. Does that count?

This is actually relatively tame compared to some of his OPs from last week.

But,

There is one thing by simply saying those and backing them up. I already explained the whole thing again. I know the belief system in your head is making you cranky.

I don't believe you've sufficiently backed your statements up. Again, science doesn't claim or aim to know absolute truth. We have never said that, but you interpret it that way.

The voices in your head are making you confused. Congratulations, you're a fekking prophet. Want a medal?

Well I'm going to give you props for actually saying "science doesn't claim or aim to know absolute truth" because in my opinion, a significant population of atheist individuals behave in such a way.
