Every other genderless person I've met has either been pansexual or asexual. Funny how that is. Also, awesome to meet another genderless person here.

You can be genderless and not be sexless (not the action of having sex, but your physical sex).

Born that way. People have an inherent sense of self. For someone who is transgender there sense of self says that their gender is different from their sex. That's why you can get mtf transgenders claiming to be girls not boys at a very young age. For me, it was harder since I didn't know the word for not having a gender. it took me a very long time to realize why I felt uncomfortable being called a girl when I was younger, but everything in me rebels against being called a boy. In fact, I only realized why it felt uncomfortable to me a couple of years ago.

For me, I was rather the same way. I knew, on some level, I wasn't like other boys, but I wasn't like girls, either. Over time, I shoved myself into the "boy" box, until I re-realized (about a year ago) that I wasn't exactly like men, or like women.
