I entirely disagree.

Every other teenager on the internet 'has aspergers'.

Why is this? So they can excuse, or attempt to excuse, their behaviour and can comfort themselves by believing that the reason they have no friends isn't because they're an awful person but is because of some disorder they've never been diagnosed with but have decided to adopt in order to feel better when they cry themselves to sleep.

Transgender isn't a gender. Someone who is MtF doesn't have a gender of MtF they, generally but with some exceptions, have a gender of female.

I'm 24 years old and my Aspergers was diagnosed in December of 2011 by Dr. [NAME REDACTED] of the [LOCATION REDACTED] ADHD and Asperger's Team so that the evidence could be given during legal proceedings.

I'm NOT asking for any privilege to be excused from being called on messing up or behavior that's wrong, flaming etc - I actually appreciated it being pointed out to me so that I can correct my behavior. I told them I had Aspergers' because it would be nice if people DIDN'T use it as some negative stereotype for every kind of thread or post they think is stupid.

Also: Nadkor - That was unacceptable and cruel behavior in your post that was completely uncalled for and unnecessary.

As to the the OP, I think people are unnecessarily restricting the answer to Western conceptions of gender, when we should be willing to consider the full panoply of grammatical gender.

For example, I offer the ten genders of the African language Luganda.

In Luganda, NationStates' gender would likely be classified under the Class IV category for miscellaneous inanimate objects (though most mods have likely been tempted to occasionally make NSG a Class VIII noun).


A more apropos example, however, comes from Dravidian languages, where all nouns are initially classed as either rational or irrational prior to further subdivision. Only humans and deities are rational, and only these nouns can be masculine, feminine, or neuter; all other nouns are irrational, and can only be singular or plural.

I therefore offer the possibility that to several million people in southern India, NationStates' gender is best listed as 'irrational'.
