What is the gender of nationstates

Im pretty sure that Nationstates is all in all a sausage fest thats 90% guys but I would love to get a clearer picture.
Social Democrat/Democratic Socialist depending on the weather.

But if it was a person, I'm pretty sure it'd be Max Barry, thus male.

why would nation states have a gender? presumably each of us individually do (unless we're a.i. or paramiciums of some other kind of strangeness), but isn't that a rather seperate question?
