Yes, but your plane never arrived.

It seems that there was a rush towards the Canadian border yesterday and they had to ground all incoming flights.

Now I'm stranded in Detroit, sharing a per-week motel with some former GM execs.

Excellent point! The stakes are hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh!

no no, i actually think thats fantastic. I just think its discouraging that some people here would discourage others from becoming regulars, based on where they post and what they look like.

But no. I don't care if you're hot or not. And it's not on me to determine you can stay or not. I don't have that kind of force, anyway. :)

I just feel that it's not fair that most of those new people just entered the forum for the contest and will never return to this board later. This is false competition.

Yeah, I was kidding anyway. Welcome to the doucheversity of NSG! We aim to be as doucheverse as possible, incorporating douchebaggery of every political and religious stripe, ensuring representative doucheism from as many different nations and ethnicities as is possible. There has been some discussion of implementing 'affirmative action-like' recruitment strategies to ensure we remain doucheverse and if you can bring a new flavour of douche to the table, that's great! If not, that's okay too.

That some people are easily amused by watching their words scrawled on the screen and one should generally just ignore them. Particularly when said person isn't even actually taking part in the competition, and the other competitors clearly don't care that several people chose this thread to introduce themselves.

hmm...I think I'm starting to see what NMG was saying about interpreting me as being more negative... :p

Nah...all of the pictures of me without my shirt are pretty out of date...I think the most recent I have is now two years old. Maybe I'll snap one if I can ever dig up my camera.

Well, if it's not too much trouble.
haha...I'll see what I can do.
By the way, for reference, the other dude in that picture is the primary one I was considering in your straight male friends thread. Which I was actually curious to hear how that all worked out...

I thought so. ;)
It didn't really come to much of anything, for that particular person. Though the information gained might be useful, for a more current person.

haha...granted, this specific friend is quite the weird kid. It isn't unnatural to do the whole "I love you" thing or even go so far as a kiss on the forehead, something I would never do with any other friend nor would any other friend do to me. But that's why he's the friend he is...if that made sense...

That is weird. And awesome.
He's a softie. We also both consider our close friends to be family, and while yes, many people do that, we really do look at eachother as brothers to the extent that our parents recognize it, despite my parents not knowing him well and his not knowing me well.

Shame the previous didn't work out, but here's to new chances

Oh, I'm not too worried about it, but thank you. :)
haha...glad to hear it.

Lol, no. I don't know how it works in Spain (whether it's sexual or not), but I was looking for one of those high end companies that charge $300. But, I wasn't willing to put the work into my body. This was in lieu of the fact that male gogo dancers aren't in demand in the United States, other than gay clubs (and, I still don't have the motivation to put the necessary work into my body... unless they paid me bank).

Go for bartending. It's like whoring yourself out, only you don't have to work out as much, and you generally get to keep your pants on.

That sucks...there's usually catering gigs around, or you can search craigslist and do contract-type work. Granted, that's how you get stuck doing gigs in which you are stuck wearing only boxer briefs, but those are also the events you make the most money.

I'll now nonchalantly shrug my shoulders, pretend I don't care because you're clearly all too superficial anyway, while my leukaemia-racked body sobs quietly to itself somewhere in this cold, damp Midlands city where my office is located.

Too much guilt? It's hard to judge these things sometimes....

wait were you that poster back on the Jolt forums that made a thread to the effect of saying you'l die pretty soon and you were racked with illness in a hospital bed?

No. While I have never hidden my medical condition, I have never started a thread about it either.

While my condition is incurable and - eventually - terminal, I probably have a good decade left. I live a happy and active life, and work full-time. I wouldn't ask anyone to think otherwise. My post above was meant to be a humorous attempt to guilt people into nominating me, and nothing more than that.

Problem is that, as people lose their "real" jobs, many fall back on their serving and bartending experience. I was working at a shitty corporate place a few months back, and we had former professionals coming in for bar and serving positions. Restaurants can, and frequently do, say "If you don't have at least 3 years experience in the last 5 years, we don't want you" in recessionary times. They have more than enough applicants.

The place I was working was already overstaffed, and daily was taking in anywhere from 3-10 applications. In a given week (ignoring Sox games, which mess things up a bit and add a few extra shifts), there are 14 shifts per week...day shifts being 10:45-5, dinner being 5-close (anywhere from 10-12, depending upon the day). Getting each bartender around 35 hours a week means that you can only really have 3 bartenders on. Luckily, most bartenders will also take serving shifts, so we managed to staff 4-5. Even if more people are drinking, our bar could not tolerate more than two bartenders on per shift, and unless it was an event (Red Sox game or a concert at Fenway Park), was unnecessary.

I really don't see any way around voting for Sith Korriban. Sure, there are other girls that are slightly (but only slightly, because she's not bad-looking) hotter, but this is the sexiest NSer contest. And between all the Geeky Turn Ons and the fact that if I remember correctly (and I usually do) she's Australian (Aussie chicks have the sexiest accents ever), my vote has to go for her.

Putting aside the fact that in my opinion there's no such thing as an attractive man, if I'm obligated to vote for a male candidate too then I'll pick Sibirsky for the same common-ground reasons. Judging from the post he made in the "You know you are..." thread, he loves the '80s and old-school rap even more than I do.

And no, I don't have a picture of myself to post at the moment... digital camera's broken. Besides, a picture of me would likely scar all of you for life. :p
