I heard one of Phelps's sons on the radio - he ran away at midnight of the day he turned 18, and screamed up the stairs at his sleeping father before running out of the house. Phelps is a monster - a physically abusive father who keeps his family in a state of fear. The WBC consists mostly of members of his family; it's like a family cult, more than a church of any kind.
