If Texas and friends said that they were just up and leaving, I'd give them three days before the entire USM is just kicking them in the face until they surrender.

Actually...Texas is filled with Pro-Gun people. If anything, I think Texas is the only remaining state with enough militias to last about a month against the USM.

Ok, so thx to all whom commented so far. This is just goin into a research paper I'm writing in one of my classes, and this was the base given to us. Most of it I don't agree with, but they wanted us to get numbers so y'all are helping me out that way.

That is unless a large chunk of the US military decided to join the rebellion, which is entirely possible in these circumstances...and remember, the top generals of the Confederacy and many of its officers were either former or acting U.S. Army officials who decided to join the Confederacy. It wasn't a ragtag band of rebels who decided to secede, it was a highly organized force with some of the country's greatest military minds behind it.

Furthermore, many units of the CSA's army were the equivalent of today's National Guard in equipment and purpose.

There's another thing. If a large portion of the USM is part of the succeeded state(s), I highly doubt they're going to take to killing their own neighbors and family - regardless of orders. Much of the USM is going to start shooting at the people they've been defending. Now, Obama's own little army and the fed's little private army they've gone going for them...They'll do whatever so long as the money keeps rolling their way.
