What I don't get about the article (in the original post) is the "multiculturalism is bad" part. Canada is very multicultural (even if you ignore Québec), and that's been working out for us pretty well.
English is a minority language in Vancouver (at least as a first language), but that hasn't made it less Canadian.

One problem is that London and the rest of the country are very different. This is why I support London becoming a city state.
Besides, the conservatives are tolerable when they control there backbenchers. I would not want UKIP to gain any influence, I would be happier with the BNP, at least you can paint them all with the same brush.

Well, that's the case in everyone's favourite British reactionary county, Lincolnshire.

While they don't have any real power in Lincolnshire, as the Conservatives still hold a far greater number of seats, it's a worrying sign. A quick read of the document shows that there isn't much of the 'OMG ebil multiculturizmzzz!' that Chris Pain had a problem with, and it doesn't seem to be a binding document to do anything. Most of the document is based around opposition to racism and the like, which I had presumed everyone on the Council would approve of.

And the traditional, 'I have black friends too!' card to tie it all up.

So, NSG: is this a simple complaint about the wording of a document, or is it something more questionable? Is this a Lincolnshire-only thing, or will we see more of this in the coming weeks and months?

Any political party calling for "independence" when there are immigrants coming into the country and it's part of an international organization has a racist undercurrent.
