Why dislike homosexuals?

I am reposting from boyscout thread

I believe that it is very disturbing the amount of people who speak of homosexuals as if they are demons hiding under your bed about to rape you if you get near them. We need to think of the truth of homosexuals or bisexuals for the matter. They may like same sex and are different from other people, but why do people avoid gays? Are they scared of there sexuality, or is it that they feel they will be ridiculed? Maybe they are scared of being raped. Somebody give me some detail of why they do not like homosexuals. If the reason is biblical then read the scripture again. Don't lie with a man as you would a women. It is not a sin to be gay it is a sin to have same sex.

I support peace in Israel and Palestine. The governments and people in power on all sides are an absolute disgrace, and their unwillingness to pursue peace is a disservice to the people they are meant to be serving. The status quo is not simply untenable; it is unquestionably unacceptable.

But seriously it has to do with several reasons: It's icky to some, it's morally [to them] wrong, etc.

And not all of it is hate either. Some of it is just misguided view that the government is granting them special rights instead of equal rights.
