People think that when you place homosexual males into a group of homosexual kids, those homosexual males (even straight scout leaders have molested their kids in the past) will be more likely to molest the children than straight males. It's not a very hard concept to grasp that this is the reason why people are against this. It isn't homophobia, they want to protect their children, and I agree with them 100%- and may I remind you that I am in fact in full support of gay rights.

I will never insult a LGBT person for their beliefs but it is completely unnecessary to force a private organization to accept people contradictory to their values, while completely disregarding the negative mental and physical effects of engaging in homosexual activity. Scouts should be taught the dangers of all sexual activity with multiple partners. Especially the effects of having anal sex. Scouts should be taught to have sexual absence until over the age of consent and joined in wedlock.

If I remember correctly, Scouts were supposed to promote tolerance.

Once they were. Then over time the Religious element took over top spots and then crap like signing morality pledges happened.

In time I might get back to helping out again.

It depends on the troop. Officially; they should not increase in Rank due to the Religious pledges.

In time it will change. The gay scout ruling is a rather large step for them.
