While that may be the case, the majority of our National Council, and a majority of scouts support the decision. So it is unfair to say that the Scouts don't want this change. It is the BSA who made this change, no one forced them.

You probably do lead a gay scout. Odds are you have at least one closet gay in your troop.

Young boy's do tend to have an irrational fear of gays. This could easily end with floods of tears.

They are not taught, that would be a rational fear. They would have reasons if that were the case, however stupid you may think they are. They fear gays to the extent they don't want to even touch them. Nobody teaches them that, they do it of their own accord. It does not fit in with what young children perceive to be the right family unit, a mother and a father.
