When Scientific Evidence and the Catholic Church itself supports it, I don't understand why it's still controversial.
Moderate Republican/Classical Liberal, Pro Life, Pro Gay Marriage, Roman Catholic (Unorthodox in the literal sense however), Pro America

They need to teach that Evolution is what it is. Say it is not fully proven.

Teach that people do believe in God. And people don't. And that it is fully up to individual choice. No more.

You're right, its not proven. Because nothing in science is proven; that's math. Science is supported. And evolution may be the best supported in theory, far more then gravity, which everyone takes for granted. So we should teach what it is: the very best we have.

Evolution is not a religious choice. I say this as a religious person. Choosing whether to "believe" in evolution entirely comes down to whether one accepts the scientific method, rigorous use of logic, and, ultimately, deduction based on facts. You can accept all of these qualities and still be religious, it just means you have to challenge yourself more often. And, honestly, it's good to challenge your faith, it makes you think, and you'll probably come out the other side a little bit stronger and a little bit wiser.

So please don't make this a religious thing, because it isn't.

It makes perfect sense. Jesus tried to build man out of clay but this didn't work because Clay just kept falling apart when it dried up. So monkeys opened large glue manufacturing plant and manufactured glue. The monkeys then went to Jesus and said "hey dude, you know that stupid project you are working on and failing?" and Jesus was like "its not stupid and I am not failing. Its almost functional" and pointed at early man but because no glue was used, it dried up and fell apart right in front of their eyes. Then monkey said "hey dude, you should buy some of our glues. We have been manufacturing them, and it only costs $100 per kilo". Jesus agreed and signed IOU agreement, thus making man. However, he forgot to take supply-demand relationship into account thus he went into debt and banks who were controlled Jews said "hey Jesus dude, we cant give you any more money, your debt is too high".

Then, his business of human-manufacturing was foreclosed. Jesus went so mental that he went to local pub and drank himself till he was sick and decided to cause the Great Flood as described in the Bible. Next morning, he realised this wouldn't look good on history, so he created "interdimentional supernatural truth and news information service", which spun this story to bible we know today.

So when we have doctors who propagate drug-resistant diseases because they "don't believe" in the evolution that makes it possible, what then?
