I was trying to be sarcastic, referring to the word "poser". They don't actually do that, just some of them.

The reason I can't talk to them is for many reasons, which would take me hours to fully list.

Then I'll say that I don't believe you at all, state that what I've seen is contrary to that, and move along. Because as far as I'm concerned, your "correlation" is actually "confirmation bias" and "misandrist presumption." Six of one, half dozen of the other, doesn't really matter which.

And I make this claim as a person who has never had any luck with romance, and have been friendzoned on multiple occasions before. And I once earnestly believed that, for lack of better phraseology, it was their "fault". Not in a vicious sort of way, but rather that they were being too shallow, couldn't see the real me, wouldn't give me a chance, etc., all those other kinds of excuses we tell ourselves.

But that was bullshit. But the truth was that I wasn't a desirable partner, and probably a crappy friend as well. And even if I had been Prince Charming, they didn't owe me anything. It's not a crime to not want to be romantically involved with someone.

Of course, since I disagree with you, I must hate men.

No dear, the only man I have hatred issues with is myself. Which is why I am the type of person who is at risk for being in an abusive relationship, and why the people who I've been interested in could have strung me along and exploited me. But they didn't, because like most people they're not horrible people. The very worst thing they did was try to ignore the problem until it went away, ignoring me, making excuses, and not trusting that I could handle rejection.

Incidently, after almost a decade of working music retail (that's the fanciest way I could come up with saying 'wasted my twenties working at a record store...sigh), I still have a bunch of t-shirts from bands I don't know. One of these days I should look up Scapegoat Wax...or is that the album title and Okeyblow the band name? I don't know, they're from Chico I guess, since the cover is a picture of a Chico exit sign...
