I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you had to force yourself to like someone. I meant if you found you liked someone.
But if you prefer to be alone, suit yourself.
If you're an introvert, then you need time to yourself, but that doesn't mean you can't have friends.

Uh... that's a whole other problem.

If you do have problems talking to people though, they're the best people to practice on. At some point in high school I made it my mission to just say "hi" to 10 people each day and even that little bit helped.

It's hard for me to talk to 1 person each day because I hate them so much.

*shrug* I've personally never found it very constructive to outright hate people... but you can consider this a self-improvement thing. I mean, as Enraged Maldivians pointed out, there's nothing wrong with being shy, but being unable to talk to people tends to make life harder. I still consider myself pretty shy even if I can have small talk with cashiers and do not stfu when I'm at the bar with my friends. There's definitely still a barrier when it comes to talking to new people, but I usually try anyway because it's something where you only get better with practice.

I doubt this. And even if that truly were the case, it wouldn't kill you to hang out with people who had *gasp* different interests to you.

Maybe broaden your horizons a bit. I sure liked having a diverse group of friends back when I was in high school.
