No. It's not disgusting. In fact, they are obligated as humans and as citizens to report crimes.

Laws exist to provide society with order. You can't just pick and choose what laws to follow. If you wish to change the system then by all means go ahead. Protest, petition, run for government and whatever other means you can find.
However you are bound for those laws, you do not get a choice on this matter. You may view it as unjust, but a mad man who thinks the world is out to get him and desires vengence would see laws against murder as unjust. There are no exceptions.
