Not edgy at all. He is a centre-rightist. Sorry but not the whole world lives in America, you need to accept this and deal with it because refusing to do so doesn't make you 3dgy or cooL.

Am I missing something here? Or is it just one of those things where they'll do anything to spite the current administration?
Obama's making a point, that Republicans aren't really for privatization unless it benefits them.

Left wing would be anyone who is actually left of centre. Social Democrats for example, Greens in America, Libertarians are socially left, the SNP is centre-left. Obama is a centre-rightist and really hasn't implemented any "leftist" policies, the closest he got was his original draft of "Obamacare" and Dodd-Frank.

This is pretty much true.
However, I think Obama is doing a good thing here. In fact, I think it's better that Obama does this rather than the Republicans because Obama has more support, and thus going through with this will be easier.

Well...this is a thread, about the American president, who is American, lives in America, and was elected by Americans. This thread is pretty much about America. Therefore, American political definitions are valid.

Wikipedia wrote:In left-right politics, right-wing describes an outlook or specific position that accepts or supports social hierarchy or social inequality. Social hierarchy and social inequality is viewed by those affiliated with the Right as either inevitable, natural, normal, or desirable, whether it arises through traditional social differences or from competition in market economies. It typically accepts or justifies this position on the basis of natural law or tradition.
