Stupid answers for stupid questions.

A thread for all those questions that weren't individual worth a thread.

In American sports, why is the away team listed first on the scoreboard?

Yes.

Unless of course it's not OK for a woman to ask for a female to ask for a female officer to carry out body checks. In which case, the answer would be no.

Well, in baseball, the visiting is up first, so the potential for them to score comes before that of the home team. Also, they're called "visitors" for a reason - you should treat our guests with polite consideration, kinda like they're guests in your home...which, by their name (visitors), they effectively are.

In my home, the guest gets the first slice of pizza.

Doesn't appear to be; Denver vs Pittsburg in Denver is on now, and the score reads "PIT 7 DEN 3".

And, I gotta tell ya... very little seems to happen in this sport.

Why is imitation crab even in existence? IT'S NOT CRAB. It doesn't even remotely taste like crab. So just serve your shredded pollack and shut up!

This, although imitation crab meat isn't exactly cheap iirc. (not here anyway)

Ohh i dunno, perhaps it is one of those cross culture things. Don't know where you are but here in teh Uk the only imitation crab meat I have ever seen is the one that comes packaged as 'Crab Stick's. And boy are they cheap.

I have never heard of this imitation crab, heaven be praised.

Lobster is kind of a fake version of crab though. Not as nice either, as I remember.

Australia. Iirc, the store I work at sells seafood extender for something like $8 a kilo. For reference you can buy a whole chicken for that much.

(actual crab meat is probably at least $20 a kilo, though)

I find lobster much tastier actually although its usually pricier. Although there's probably regional differences in quality.

(wow, edit my posts much?)

Sorry, misunderstood, that would be about £4 a kilo; the amount in $ is roughly double. :)

EDIT - looked up the price of other seafood to compare, it's about the equivalent of £16 for 1kg of unshelled prawns/shrimp, £15 for 1kg salmon, etc...so fake crab comes up cheap in comparison although still relatively expensive as far as food goes.

As for the first question (Why is the away team listed first on American scoreboards?), I would say it's out of courtesy.

Ahem... But in all seriousness, it's probably because real crab is more expensive (at least here in upstate New York). I think it's OK myself, but then, I's po'.

Not from New England if you think lobster is a fake version of crab...try a real Maine lobster some time (not that frozen crap or the langostino lobster most cheap places use). Much more and better meat than crab.

Politeness?

Because you always start with the team playing away like Team A @ Team B

For Example Pittsburg @ Denver

Why can the US government spend a trillion dollars when our national wealth is in the billions?
Why are we developing flying cars when we can barely survive on the road?
And Why can't I sleep. Insomnia is not very fun...
