I really like the songs from France and Macedonia and anyone that makes fun shall be forever tortured by that creepy Romanian guy.

Wish we had something similar but all we have is the ABU Festivals.

We don't take it seriously here so we're never going to enter a good act. Countries don't tend to send in their best.

It's better known as the land of sheep, daffodils and rugby. I've never heard it called the land of song before.

We never send anybody that is any good anymore. The last time we took the competition seriously was 70's or 80's.

If we did we would just send the stones to slaughter all the other acts.

I disagree, her song/style was way to westernised, when I see Russia I want to see someone singing in Russian, not a singer who could be American for all I know. I usually like Russia's acts (and loved last years), but this years is garbage IMO.

Fair enough, but personally I like the Russian language, and I like it when countries sing In there own native languages, instead of anglocising themselves (and this is coming from someone born in Britain).

English is much better than Russian. And I find that song brilliant and epic.

No. Nobody takes it too seriously, the show is clearly fixed, and winning has nothing to do with talent. Something which tends to be severely lacking. It's a mockery of talent contests.

Oh wait. Yeah. It's the same.

It's still entertaining though. If only ironically.

Nobody takes it seriously.....

Where did you get that from?
The Eurovision fans take it very seriously.. I should know, I'm one of them. You obviously have been brainwashed by the horrible Terry Wogan who polluted the minds of many with his bullshit.

Go back to your Justin Bieber and leave the real music alone. Even if sometimes we have political voting in Eurovision, such a thing cannot be countered in an international contest. What should we do, ban voting your neighbors? Anyway, I listen for the good songs, and there are clearly a lot of them here, Eurovision being the second most important music festival in Europe.

What is the first?

The Sanremo Music Festival (considered here). It also was the inspiration for Eurovision, and it is now the selection for the Italian entry.

My predictions for the second Semi-Final:

Qualifying:
- Greece: The song is fun and sounds good so they should go through.
- Israel: Solid enough song that Eurovision tends to go for.
- Iceland: They have a good record at the contest and the song is decent.
- Finland: The song is pretty over-the-top and it seems like it will do well.
- Malta: Pretty decent song that seems like it should do ok.
- San Marino: Their entry is surprisingly good and everyone likes an underdog.
- Switzerland: It's a decent song and should do well enough.
- Albania: It's different but I think it will do well.
- Azerbaijan: It suits Eurovision well so it should just about get through.
- Norway: A bit unusual but seems strong enough to get though.

Out:
- Georgia: It's not bad but I don't think it has enough to get through.
- Romania: The song is pretty odd and I can't see it going through.
- Bulgaria: It's a bit too unusual.
- Latvia: It doesn't seem like the type of song that will go through.
- Macedonia: The lady singing in this ruins this song for me.
- Armenia: The singing doesn't seem like it's strong enough to go through.
- Hungary: Not type of song that I think will do well.

This nation should not be taken to be representative of my real-life views, nor should any of the nonsense I posted on here as a teenager.

Britcan, you will see, Romania always passes. It has friends, and however stupid the song is, it's friends save it.
And if it doesn't, then I shall be happy that the final will be saved from such a song.
