Apparently, we're the Thought Police. Yay.

I think the last time I took it I turned out INTJ, although by a margin of about 10%. Evidently that trend's been reversed sometime during the last two years.

EDIT: And having read the description they give, it doesn't describe me accurately at all, either. I blame the fact that all the questions have only two answers, flawing the results. (For example, "I have many social relationships" vs. "I have a few, deeply personal relationships"? Or walking in the woods? I don't walk in the woods to think of ideas or to smell the breeze, I walk in the woods to get to more interesting places, like mountaintops and waterfalls.)

well i did it anyway,
Ta-dah, your personality type is INFJ!

Introverted (I) 68% Extraverted (E) 32%
Intuitive (N) 59% Sensing (S) 41%
Feeling (F) 60% Thinking (T) 40%
Judging (J) 55% Perceiving (P) 45%

wow i take that back, scarily accurate.
EDIT: teh lolz counselor result
INFJs are conscientious and value-driven. They seek meaning in relationships, ideas, and events, with an eye toward better understanding themselves and others. Using their intuitive skills, they develop a clear vision, which they then execute decisively to better the lives of others. Like their INTJ counterparts, INFJs regard problems as opportunities to design and implement creative solutions.[14]

INFJs are quiet, private individuals who prefer to exercise their influence behind the scenes. Although very independent, INFJs are intensely interested in the well-being of others. INFJs prefer one-on-one relationships to large groups. Sensitive and complex, they are adept at understanding complicated issues and driven to resolve differences in a cooperative and creative manner. [15]

INFJs have a rich, vivid inner life, which they may be reluctant to share with those around them. Nevertheless, they are congenial in their interactions, and perceptive of the emotions of others. Generally well-liked by their peers, they may often be considered close friends and confidants by most other types. However, they are guarded in expressing their own feelings, especially to new people, and so tend to establish close relationships slowly. INFJs tend to be easily hurt, though they may not reveal this except to their closest companions. INFJs may "silently withdraw as a way of setting limits," rather than expressing their wounded feelings—a behavior that may leave others confused and upset.[16]

INFJs tend to be sensitive, quiet leaders with a great depth of personality. They are intricately and deeply woven, mysterious, and highly complex, sometimes puzzling even to themselves. They have an orderly view toward the world, but are internally arranged in a complex way that only they could understand. Abstract in communicating, they live in a world of hidden meanings and possibilities. With a natural affinity for art, INFJs tend to be creative and easily inspired.[17] Yet they may also do well in the sciences, aided by their intuition

Ta-dah, your personality type is INTP!
Introverted (I) 71% Extraverted (E) 29%
Intuitive (N) 55% Sensing (S) 45%
Thinking (T) 75% Feeling (F) 25%
Perceiving (P) 59% Judging (J) 41%

INTP types are quiet, thoughtful, analytical individuals who enjoy spending long periods of time on their own, working through problems and forming solutions. They are curious about systems and how things work. Consequently, they are frequently found in careers such as science, architecture, and law. INTPs tend to be less at ease in social situations or in the "caring professions," although they enjoy the company of those who share their interests. They also tend to be impatient with the bureaucracy, the rigid hierarchies, and the politics prevalent in many professions. They prefer to work informally with others as equals.

INTPs organize their understanding of any topic by articulating principles, and they are especially drawn to theoretical constructs. Having articulated these principles for themselves, they can demonstrate remarkable skill in explaining complex ideas to others in simple terms, especially in writing. On the other hand, their ability to grasp complexity may also lead them to provide overly detailed explanations of "simple" ideas, and listeners may judge that the INTP makes things more difficult than they are. To the INTP, however, this is incomprehensible: They are merely presenting all the information.

Given their independent nature, INTPs may prefer working alone to leading or following in a group. During interactions with others, if INTPs are focused on gathering information, they may seem oblivious, aloof, or even rebellious—when in fact they are concentrating on listening and understanding. However, INTPs' extraverted intuition often gives them a quick wit, especially with language. They may defuse tension through comical observations and references. They can be charming, even in their quiet reserve, and are sometimes surprised by the high esteem in which their friends and colleagues hold them.

When INTPs feel insulted, however, they may respond with sudden, cutting criticism. After such an incident, INTPs are likely to be as bewildered as the recipient. They have broken the rules of debate and exposed their raw emotions. To INTPs, this is the crux of the problem: emotions must be dealt with logically—because improperly handled emotions, INTPs believe, can only harm.

The part bolded, gawd, I hear that everyday of my life.

And the last paragraph admittedly happens to me more often than I care to admit.

You are:
• very expressed introvert
• moderately expressed intuitive personality
• slightly expressed thinking personality
• very expressed judging personality

about half the time I take these, and ITSJ the other half

Introverted (I) 57%
Sensing (S) 64%
Feeling (F) 65%
Judging (J) 50%

Myers-Briggs description

According to Myers-Briggs, ISFJs are interested in maintaining order and harmony in every aspect of their lives. They are steadfast and meticulous in handling their responsibilities. Although quiet, they are people-oriented and very observant. Not only do they remember details about others, but they observe and respect others’ feelings. Friends and family are likely to describe them as thoughtful and trustworthy.

Keirsey description

According to Keirsey, ISFJs, or "Protector Guardians", are most concerned with taking care of people by keeping them safe and secure. They are modest caretakers who do not demand credit or thanks for their efforts. But while they are essentially very compassionate—and in fact exercise more patience in dealing with the disabled than perhaps any other type—their shyness with strangers can lead others to misread them as standoffish. Only among friends and family may this quiet type feel comfortable speaking freely. ISFJs are serious people with a strong work ethic, not inclined to self-indulgence. They believe in being meticulous and thrifty. They work well alone. While they may enjoy taking care of others, they do not enjoy giving orders.

No clue. Is it available for free?

I will say, though, that since I haven't left the house except to work and buy necessities in nine years, I can probably be considered an introvert. :lol:

I mean, on the little test there, I didn't like half the options for how vague they were and I kept hitting "I'm really in between." Are you supposed to do that?

I was dissatisfied with my earlier results and retook it. Still ISTJ.

Introverted (I) 100% Extraverted (E) 0%
Sensing (S) 64% Intuitive (N) 36%
Thinking (T) 100% Feeling (F) 0%
Judging (J) 55% Perceiving (P) 45%

And it still doesn't match. I select, from a list, the following:
ISTJs generally have the following traits:

* Value tradition, security, and peaceful living
* Will work long and hard to fulfill duties
* Can be depended on to follow through on tasks
* Loyal and faithful
* Stable, practical and down-to-earth
* Family-minded
* Dislike doing things which don't make sense to them
* Dislike abstract theory, unless they see the practical application

* Natural leaders
* Prefer to work alone, but work well in teams when necessary
* Extremely observant, they take in facts via their senses and store them internally
* Vast, rich inner store of facts which they rely on to understand problems which they encounter in their lives
* Profound respect for facts and concrete information
* Make decisions objectively, applying logic and rational thinking
* Dislike change, unless they are shown it's benefit in a concrete way
* Have strong opinions about the way things should be done

* Appreciate structured, orderly environments
* Have very high standards for their own behavior and the behavior of others
* Not naturally in-tune with other people's feelings
* Able to accomplish almost anything if they put their minds to it
* Community minded "good citizens"

Moreover, despite their recommended careers (which included "businessman", "military leader", etc.), my actual choice of career ended up being one recommended for ISFPs -- which I'm a long way from being according to their test.

I've formulated a new theory of interpreting the Myers-Briggs test: it's full of shit.

If I recall correctly, it was created by a mother and her daughter to help them classify the daughter's boyfriend (or husband, one) so they could understand him better.

So yeah, your theory is not unfounded.

I didn't like the options because I neither agreed with most of them, nor was I anywhere in between. Questions that stood out:

When I walk in the forest, I love to smell the woods and the feel the breeze on my face.
While I walk in the forest, I love to think about all kinds of things and ideas.
I'm really in between.

Neither. I walk in the forest to get places -- cliffs for rock climbing, flowers or waterfalls for photographing, mountaintops for the sense of achievement etc. -- not to get ideas or something.

I have strong analytical skills.
I am caring, compassionate and tender.
I'm really in between.

What, you can't be both analytical and compassionate? BS.

My goals are open-ended and subject to change as new information becomes available.
I set and respect fixed goals and work toward achieving them on time.
I'm really in between.

"I don't set goals"? "My goals are fixed but broad enough that there is no schedule for them to be achieved on time by"?

I prefer one-on-one conversations.
I am a mixer and mingler at parties.
I'm really in between.

I, personally, don't go to parties, and one-on-one conversations lasting more than about thirty minutes wear me out. I'm sure there are plenty more like me, especially on the internet.

I have many social relationships.
I have a few deep, personal relationships.
I'm really in between.

See the above question. You can more or less guess what my answer to this one would have been.

Et cetera.
