Who will be superpowers in 2050?

Europe will not be home to any superpowers (Apart from Western Russia) because of the EU. The EU will cause disputes and I reckon that there will be a European war. Britain and Germany will go to war again, simply because of the EU. Germany will gain more power and other nations will lose their power. Germany and Britain will get into conflict to do with this, but the other big nations like France and Italy? Only time will tell.

That people actually still imagine such scenarios makes me sad. 'Simply because of the EU'? The EU won't be a reason for Germany to start war with a nuclear power with a much stronger army. Or for the UK to start war with a country that's too economically important for quite everyone that the UK interacts with.

I'm not completely sure that all of those countries will exist as they do now by 2050. If they do, China's gonna be big, America won't be forgotten and Russia will still be around. I'd imagine that a closer Europe would be somewhere in that mix, with or without Britain. Brazil and India have a chance depending on how they grow.

I'm not saying war will occur simply over the EU. I'm saying I think that the EU will be connected somehow, but I don't know why. I'm not one of those Brits who hold a grudge against Germany if that is what you are suggesting.

Other than Russia and China, the other nations will only reach the level of Great Power.

Mexico, Norway, and Argentina, probably regional powers.

China, Brazil, India, the EU,Russia and Indonesia all have the potential to become superpowers. Wether they will become one and in that time scale is another matter, for the foreseeable future we shall remain in a unipolar system.

india and china will have joined the club, with today's gang of idiots still around. i just rather suspect none of them are going to be all that super by then. the may still imagine they are. it would be guessword at this point as to how much any of them will actually be though. famine and disease may bring all of them down by then, and if the u.s. thinks it can continously make war on the entire rest of the planet that long, it won't have left much of itself standing by doing so either.
