Who will be superpowers in 2050?

My guess is that the irreparable problems in the US can no longer be kicked down the road between now and 2050, and the US will lose its superpower status. It will still probably be a regional power, barring breakaway states, but it will be a good ways back.

My guess is that most of the power in the future is going to be concentrated in Asia; I think India actually has a better chance of superpower status, but China is practically there at this point.

It talked about the one-child policy in China and how by 2050 a good portion of the population will be 65 and older and there will not be enough young people to support the nation.

I would say that there is a good chance that Brazil or India will become a powerful force in the world.
