But when women are vastly more likely to be murdered by their male partners than men are by their female partners, it's stupid to pretend that these are equal problems on the larger societal level. In the same way, I care about anyone who has cancer and hope that everyone who has cancer receives the medical treatment they need, but I am more pressingly concerned about colon cancer than heart cancer because colon cancer affects far more people. Would you really argue that the exact same level of attention and resources should be given to a problem that affects a hundred people and a problem that affects a million people?

I don't get why people keep pointing out that this is a joke as if that is somehow relevant information. If I go up to someone and say, "I'd like to go to your house and murder your children with a knife! JUST KIDDING!" that is "just a joke." It is also deeply fucked up and not remotely funny, the person I said it to would probably think I was an enormous asshole, and people would be very right to criticize me for it. Well I think that's also something that needs to be pointed out. It's not just that a company made this. If so it'd just be one stupid company. It's that they made this TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF IT. Which means it has to have a MARKET. Someone has to be willing to BUY this.

For this to exist, someone, somewhere, in this company had to think that this was a good idea.

I'm inclined to agree with you. However, such typical incidents only serve to strengthen stereotypes about the NRA being an organization of potential murderers. Not that I really care about that, but why the hell didn't the NRA's PR division intervene when it became clear what product Zombie Industries was selling? I assume the NRA now thinks violent video games are perfectly harmless, given their indirect support of simulated violence against women.
