Well, fuck. I guess we're just going to keep going around this teacup ride.

So now you admit that he is pushing for new gun control measures? Also, I wasn't aware that they had held a referendum on the issue?

A background check? Yeah. Him and 90% of the nation would like to see an expansion of them. I'm pretty confident that we can say it's not controversial to anyone who doesn't work for the NRA.

TED said that such measures had a wide degree of support. You asked if there was a referendum, as if that was the only way to gauge public support. There has not been, but you can learn how the public feels from a poll. I was trying to point this out to you, since you apparently were unaware.

You can't outright claim that 90% of the nation supports something without conducting a referendum. Despite being useful, polls are often worded in biased ways and aren't always an accurate measure of public opinion.

I feel that the 2nd amendment is important.

I also feel that peaceful acts of civil disobedience can be healthy and sobering to a drunk, large monolithic Government.

Seems to be a running gag don't it? The poll disagrees with me, therefore it's clearly not only wrong, but was conducted on opposite day.

There were serious methodology issues with a lot of polls last election cycle.

But unless Irredento wants to provide some evidence to suggest that the polls TED is talking about have some serious methodology issues, I'll just keep believing the numbers.

poll after poll after poll, performed all over the country, with very simple wording, has shown that background checks have more support than APPLE FUCKING PIE.
