Immediate access should be tempered with safety. you do not want anyone untrained getting their hands your your "immediate access" weapon.

I like firearms in a variety of calibers for multiple applications.

Such as? 'cause two rifles, a shotgun and a handgun covers pretty much everything I can think of for hunting (.22 and .36 respectively for rodent and bigger game) .

My long guns and the handguns stored in my safe have either a trig lock or a cable lock ran through the action and the ammo is stored in a lockbox as well, I'm deathly afraid of my girls getting ahold of one and its why I plan on teaching them firearms safety at an early age.
