Because of your previous implication that there was no reason to keep ammunition in the home.

Unless you were being sarcastic/humorous, in which case I recommend you affix some kind of textual/visual indicator of such, like ' :P ' or ' ;) ' so as to avoid the ever-so-common misidentification of sarcastic comments as serious ones (and vice versa) on teh internetz.

I wasn't sarcastic. It was just poor wording on my part. I was referring to government issued ammunition, not privately sold ammunition. Sorry.

Probably. When they hit the market I bought two boxes of .44 magnum and two of 9mm. When the took them off the market (they really should have thought out the name a bit better), I made a nice profit selling the four boxes. :)

Black Talons are still around, they've just been renamed.

No worries; thanks for the clarification.

EDIT: Though I imagine government-issued ammunition would be an attractive alternative to privately-sold ammunition for those below the poverty line (or another equivalent threshold of substandard income). On the other hand, an ammunition allowance of sorts (or some kind of voucher system) would be effective as well.

That was just the basic battery. An expanded battery would include a backup handgun, and a second rifle (one semi-auto or lever action, the other a scoped bolt action for longer ranged shooting). Beyond that I would start calling it a collection more than a battery.

Well then to avoid further confusion, maybe YOU ought to tell me what YOUR definition is.

I'm so fucking confused with this Wikipedia article. First it says "collective rights" model, then it states the "sophisticated collective rights model." But then later it refers to the "sophisticated" as just the "collective rights model."

The first, known as the "states' rights" or "collective rights" model, holds that the Second Amendment does not apply to individuals; rather, it recognizes the right of each state to arm its militia.

The second, known as the "sophisticated collective rights model", holds that the Second Amendment recognizes some limited individual right. However, this individual right could only be exercised by actively participating members of a functioning, organized state militia.

The first more closely related to what I am referring to, but it's not necessarily true that it doesn't apply to the individuals, it applies to the individual right to bear arms in the context of preserving and maintaining an effective militia.

Now I'M Confused. First, the idea that the states have the right to arm it's militia is nuts for two reasons: States don't have rights, states have powers and states don't have militias. The Militia is federal. That's why state national guard branches are called NATIONAL Guard.

Second, I'm not sure where you stand anymore. Now your definition sounds more like individual rights than collective rights.

Yes. You win the knowledge of understanding that the Second Amendment doesn't apply to the National Guard, but to state militias.

Immediate access should be tempered with safety. you do not want anyone untrained getting their hands your your "immediate access" weapon.

The second amendment doesn't apply to state militias. It applies to people. Or more specifically, it applies to government by depriving them of the power to restrict a certain right.

I always thought the National Guard was a collection of state militias.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting though.

[footnote: the second sentence was not sarcastic; I'm open to the idea of it being a federal entity. It just looks like both...]
