With all the other bans and restrictions on smoking, you might just as well make it illegal - a prohibition on tobacco use.

No need to ban chewing tobacco.

And we all know how well that worked for alcohol and is working for drugs.

Brings up the question of how many smokers would buy black market cigarettes if smoking were banned but other forms of tobacco were legal (removing the taxes on them would also help here).

Anyway, all these outdoors smoking bans are pretty stupid and nonsensical. Generally, the same people who complain so much about tobacco smoke fail to complain the same about IC engine exhausts... which pollute air MUCH more than tobacco smokers do.

Catalytic converters are only there to reduce the levels of carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides. Kind of a mute point on your behalf seeing as cigarettes, in comparison with a single vehicle exhaust, produce a considerable amount of toxins

Only for carbon dioxide emissions. Generally speaking, there is still a lot of other harmful toxins there in vastly more quantities than you get with cigarettes.

That's not the point. Cigarettes cannot be compared to fossil fuel emissions in terms of air pollution nor the toxins generated by the burning of said fossil fuels. You're more likely to die from ambient air pollutants than you are from second-hand smoke.

Smart move. Smoke lingers around in outdoor areas too, I lost count how many times I got puffed on on sidewalks or in parks, just plain disgusting, smoke at home if you want to, like suicide should be legal, as long as it doesn't harm others physically.
