Im going to say battle of waterloo. Napolean was attacked by the combined British Prussian and Austrian forces. Even though he lost, he killed as many men as he could before surrendering. It was also significant because it was an early coalition battle of all 3 former enemies joining together to fight french tyranny.

Sedan, wait not much not happened apart from Bavaria's finest hour nearby in Basailles. Probably Leipzig.

I am Bavarian :p

Chancellorsville, no doubt. It was truly the "absolute masterpiece" and was the best battle ever fought by an American general.

Austerlitz, Battle of The Bulge are my absolute favorites by interest
Austerlitz: Napoleon beating a superior Russian and Austrian force by using fog and lower terrain which in my opinon is quite fascinating given hw the highground is a huge tactical advantage in many regards
BotB: Patton being one of the greatest generals in history takes on the might of the german army and permanently cripples their armed forces leaving no doubt that the Allies would advance into Germany

Poltava, of course.

Peter clearly knew that Charles XII wasn't in charge of the Swedish army anymore (not directly, anyway,) and exploited that to his full advantage in an almost humorously direct way: He built a wall through the middle of the battlefield.

Constantine XI wins the 'Most Badass Greek Ruler (A.D.)' award by a long shot. Gotta hand it to an emperor who's not only willing to go down with the ship, but lead the final charge :P

Waterloo wasn't the great Napoleonic-era battle for sure. There were many other more interesting battles. It was just the last chapter to a great tale.

Waterloo's value lies in inspiring one of the catchiest songs of the 20th century, ensuring that Charles XIV John of Sweden, born Jean Bernadotte, could troll his former sovereign even 1 1/2 centuries after the fact.

Ahh, yes. The strange French Marshall who became King of Sweden and declared war on his former Emperor!
