What historical battles do you find intersting?

Postby Greater Imperial Prussia » Mon Apr 29, 2013 10:37 am

Of the many i could choose for this, I would say the Battle of Leuthen in 1757. Frederick II and 30,000 Prussians marched on an 80,000 strong Austrian force, and because of a masterful flanking manuever by Frederick, along with the high quality of Prussian infantry, the best in the world at the time, the Prussian army crushed the Austrians with ease. Prussian casualties numbered in the 6,000s, while Austria lost over 22,000 men Killed, captured, and wounded, along with over 100 artillery pieces and over 50 regimental standards.

The Battle of Boar Meat

A famous battle that occurred in ~30,000 BC, the belligerents being the Northern cavemen and the Southern cavemen fighting over the meat of a slain boar. The commanders were Captain Caveman for the northerns and Chief Ugboots for the southerners.
To this day we don't know exactly who won the claim to the meat.

Nagashino was a cavalry charge... into a rifle wall. :(

Istvaan III is what started it, Calth was the Ultramarines' significant battle during it, and the Battle for Terra is self-explanatory. :p

Didn't help the Takeda any that they were also out numbered three to one before a single shot was fired..

Bit harsh on the boy perhaps? He certainly was not his father, but he was also faced with fighting the man who literally re wrote the book on Japanese warfare..(Nobunaga, although Ieasu was no fool either it must be said)

Takeda were familiar with riflemen opponents (Mikatagahara). Katsuyori didn't take into account that this time it was them who were outnumbered.
