If you believe in Darwin's theory of evolution (and there is no reason why you would not) then you and that mouse had a common ancestor. Perhaps it adapted by growing a more condensed brain while your ancestors adapted by growing a larger one? Why would it offend people that mice are smarter than humans per cc of brainsize? As per the question in the OP: There is no way to determine that but it would be interesting if true. I wonder if our brains were reduced in density so as to not use to much energy when gathering enough carbohydrates was a challenge?

This is what I'm thinking too. I suspect there is a reason that the mouse brain is the size it is and that attempts to change it in one direction or another would not go well. You don't go through millions of years of adaptations and have a brain that is not well adjusted to the body.
