My opinion is in complete agreement with the law. People should pray wherever they want as long as their prayer isn't a massive disruption or isn't designed to shame me or any other non-believers publicly.

And bible clubs are fine as long as they aren't school-sponsored and seen as a state endorsement of religion.

for the most part we are not in conflict then, the only thing I can see is a point by SCOTUS in the stone v.graham case in which the supreme court ruled that it is unconstitutional to pray aloud over one's lunch. So there is a official court opinion against personal practice of religion in the school system, which I do not agree with, especially given that the student was not causing any major disruption or conducting it during class time.

Absolutely, because they were either a). heavily subsidized by the government (auto bailouts, bank bailouts, airline bailouts, fuck even railroad bailouts), collapsed once those subsidies ended, costing Christ only knows how many billions of dollars to the taxpayers; or b). went out of business because as a private industry they were wasteful, inefficient, a mess and unable to compete.

The difference being that's not always true with government programs, nor should it necessarily be (which is my fucking point). Public programs do not necessarily exist to be efficient and make profits, they serve to help. But I'm not going to fucking pretend that private industries are not more efficient, because they are. But the problem is the degree of ruthlessness that is required to succeed in the open market is not necessarily a good thing for programs operated by the government to keep a safety net for Americans who need help.

Some are wasteful yes, but not all. DARPA and NASA alone have been at least partly responsible for a lot of the technological innovations these days. Including the recently released Google Glasses.

Not only that, there are several great things that came out of defense spending, as well as other government programs...but they did so not out of demand, but necessity. The problem really is you can't compare government programs to private industry because they are for two very different things and have two very different goals. Which is my point. Sometimes you tolerate those inefficiencies, because the goal is something not necessarily in demand by the market, but required for the nation.

In fairness it's not particularly obvious unless you go digging through their party platform. I used to like them a lot too, or at least, as much as I liked any third party in the US.

From what I've heard, people are expecting Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton as Democratic candidates and Christ Christie, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio as Republican candidates.
